World and monsters
The world used to be in balance: fire was hot, ice was cold, wind moved. Then energy from nowhere filled everything to the brim, like a glass of sweet milk poured past the top. All that extra strength had nowhere to go, so it went into every living thing: the animals of the forest, the guards of the caverns, the toys in the workshop. They didn't turn evil, and nobody cursed them. They are just overexcited, and they can't stop.
The spirits asleep inside gems can no longer hear the beat through all that noise. So the world needs a kind of person who sets out with a partner gem, wins fair and square against the little creatures that can't stop, and lets them burn off the extra and sit down to catch their breath. That person is a gem awakener.
Five worlds, and a tower

Green Meadow
The first region the overload reached, where everyone gets excited far too easily. Rocky rolls downhill for no reason, Pudding Slime bounces without end, and Prickle Ball has rolled itself into an angry sphere.

Ice Cavern
The cavern amplifies every elemental tremor, and everything inside resonates and shivers with it. Frost Fox chases its own tail, Frost Spike is wound tight, and Stone Golem will hold your dice down.

Lava Toy Workshop
A whole workshop is still running here, gears and wind-up dolls all over the floor. Everything turns far faster than it was built to, and the hotter it ran, the more of the workshop melted into lava.

Twilight Forest
The elemental hum here is too low to hear, and it keeps the residents from sleeping. Baby Bat flies all night, Mist Cuckoo never goes home, and Corrupt Wisp will blur your dice.

Star Temple
This close to the core, Lantern Sway swings its tassels to the beat and Star Pup guards the door to it. They aren't excited. The beat has gone wrong, and they don't know what else to do.

The Endless Tower
The tower stands directly over the elemental core, and the higher you climb, the stronger the energy. Everyone meets exactly the same stages in the same order each season; what's being compared is card skill and quick thinking.
Four bosses
A boss waits on floors 5 and 10; odd-numbered levels meet one pair, even-numbered levels the other.

Dice King 骰子大王
A big pile of stacked dice with a crown on top. Boss of the meadow, loves to play, and decides everything with a throw.

Mirror Lake 鏡湖湖
A lake standing upright. Its surface can't settle because of the elemental echo; it blocks your way to show you how churned up it is.

Element Dragon 元素龍龍
The dragon closest to the core and the fullest of all, with all six elements racing through it at once. Beat it fair and square so it can burn off the extra and finally settle.

Moth Queen 暗夜蛾蛾
The great moth that keeps the forest's night. Her wings beat out of time, trying to find the rhythm again.
Twenty residents who can't stop
They're all fine afterwards: they sit down, catch their breath, shake it off and wander away.
Rocky岩岩Round stones all over the meadow, built to sleep twenty hours a day. Now they can't sleep, so they roll downhill, climb back up, and roll again.
Pudding Slime布丁史萊姆Looks delicious, feels delicious, bounces without end. Beat it and it goes "pop" and flattens out on the ground.
Baby Bat蝙蝠寶寶A tiny bat with wings bigger than its body. Three days without going home, flying crooked, looking for somewhere to land.
Prickle Ball刺刺球Normally a cactus ball sunning itself slowly. Now every spine stands up and it rolls around poking whoever comes close. It doesn't dislike you. It just can't stop.
Lava Imp熔岩小惡魔The little one who tends the fire in the workshop. The fire got too big and it caught too. It holds its breath to charge, face redder and redder, then lets it all out at once.
Boo幽靈嘟嘟A small bedsheet that loved sleeping, woken up, and now going through walls to scare people. After each scare it goes "boo" itself, more surprised than you are.
Frost Fox冰晶狐The fastest thing in the cavern. It used to lead the way; now it runs so fast it leads you deeper, and feels no guilt at all.
Cloud Bird雲朵鳥A slow cloud with a bird living inside. When the wind is too strong it fluffs up in anger, and the feathers it drops hurt more than its peck.
Corrupt Wisp腐化幽靈A wisp of mist from the darkest corner of the forest. When it comes close, your dice blur and lose their colours. It only wants company in the dark.
Stone Golem石魔像The cavern's gatekeeper, built to move once a century. Now it can't keep still; it sees dice and presses them down, so they won't run off.
Horn Beetle角蟲精A little beetle from the grass with a horn bigger than its body. Not much of a fighter, but hit it and the horn pokes you right back, and that startles it too.
Crescent Sprite彎月靈A small crescent moon fallen from the night sky, pointed at both ends. It bends into a bow and flings light, again and again, because it finds that fun.
Frost Spike冰尖尖An icicle hanging from the cave roof that used to just drip. Disturbed, it grows sharper, and the closer it gets to cracking, the harder it stabs. It's nervous.
Frost Coral冰珊瑚瑚Coral growing under the glacier, one centimetre a year. With all this energy it grows too fast, and flicks the extra ice away one bead at a time.
Furnace Kin熔爐寶寶A small furnace from the workshop that grew arms and legs. The fire won't go out, so it keeps repairing itself, gets hotter, and repairs itself again.
Spring Whistler發條哨哨A wind-up toy whose key never stops turning. One hop, two hops, fold back in: it's running its last programmed motion, ten times too fast.
Mist Cuckoo霧咕咕A cooing patch of forest mist that used to show up only at dawn. Now it's there all day, and when it wraps around you, it's trying to hug you.
Star Pup星座犬犬A dog in the temple drawn in stars, whose favourite thing is sitting down. Now it holds its starlight up as a shield at the door, because it remembers what to guard, just not why.
Lantern Sway燈籠搖搖A paper lantern from the temple corridor, tassels swinging in circles, eyes closed, smiling. It thinks this is great.
Glow Bug螢火蟲蟲A firefly that has glowed too long and should have rested at dawn. It bumps into you only because you look the brightest, and it wants to be closer.
